The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, also known as MSU is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in India. Established in 1949, MSU is recognized by UGC and has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. The university has also been ranked 16th under the pharmacy and 151-200 under the overall category in the NIRF rankings 2022. MSU is a public university that has a sprawling campus that houses numerous schools and departments and caters to more than 23,000 students from across the globe.

Established in 1881, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is an open university, which was initially known as Baroda College. Founded by Maharaja Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad, it was granted the status of a university in 1949. The main building, Faculty of Arts is designed in the Indo-Saracenic style by the famous architect, Robert Fellowes Chisholm. The university began its first class with Arts and Science Departments.

MSU Admission Process

To apply for admission to MSU, candidates need to follow steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of MSU – www.msubaroda.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on ‘Admission’ tab highlighted at the top of the homepage.

Step 3: Select which course you want to opt for.

Step 4: Download and read complete information brochure with respect to selected course and its entry criteria.

Step 5: Fill up an online application form as per prescribed format and submit it on or before the due date.

Step 6: After submission, take a print out of generated application form and keep it in safe custody

Step 7: Pay the necessary amount of application fee (in case any) online only through specified payment gateway in order to successfully submit your application form.

Step 8: On successful completion of payment process, take a print out of fee receipt

Financial Assistance to Eligible Students from Economically Disadvantaged Students:-

1. The candidate must be a regular/bonafide/enrolled student of “The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda” and
2. The financial condition of the student and his family is such that the total household income (including income of
all family members living jointly in the same house) does not exceed a sum of <‘ 2,25,0001- (Rupees two lacs
twenty five thousand only) per annum
3. The candidate has secured at least 50% marks in his/ her preceding examination, and
4. Has not availed or availing any financial assistance/ fee waiver etc. Other like, from any source whatsoever, for
the same/ relevant academic period for which the candidate is seeking this assistance
